I should have raised to 3C the first time, which is why bidding 2C with a red 2 suiter is silly. If these are torture bids, then why bother posting to so say that you aren't going to post? :) Partner was myself getting too creative in auction 3 with the guessed at (by Justin): ♠xxxx♥xxxx♦xxxx♣x I have since been convinced to pass the redouble and wait for partner to remove himself correcting 2♣ to 2♦. I was more used to bidding that after (1NT) - X - (P) - ? or 1NT - (X) - ?. But those are quite different auctions. If you bid 2♣ as natural and weak (since you are not standing the double), then redouble only makes sense for rescue and only if you do not have clubs at all. Perhaps there is some argument that with one you have club tolerance and in the other sequence you do not? ♠ xx♥ xxxxx♦ xxxxx♣ x vs ♠ ---♥ xxxxx♦ xxxxx♣ xxx or some values in the pull versus not ♠ xx♥ xxxxx♦ xxxxx♣ x vs ♠ xx♥ KJxxx♦ QJxxx♣ x Since in the latter you are making partner give preference potentially a level higher. It all comes down to what you expect from partner and what your agreements are. But if we are not willing to explore, then we are not willing to be enlightened! He has tried to psyche opps out of a club fit and is now asking for you to rescue him. Of course, if pard isn't a 'joker' kind of person, then I wouldn't know what to do.. lol.
