E - S - W - N

1 -ps -1 -2

ps*-ps -ps[/hv]

ps*= 0-2.

EW were apparently playing a basic 2/1.

Are you suggesting N should x and not bid 2c?

I think 2 is a fine bid, but as I have said so many times before, I have a lot of respect for 2-level overcalls. Therefore, I would have no qualms about rasing to 3 with the South hand.

If we get doubled and go for 300-500, we need to talk with partner about overcalls at the 2-level (and higher) when both opponents are unlimited.

3 is not obvious for many partnerships, so it's a bit harsh to assign blame here. South gets 12½%, the rest goes to society and lack of agreements regarding overcalls.

I like a X with the north hand, is a bit good for 2C though that is reasonable. I agree with souths pass at matchpoints, but not at imps. Mainly a little bad luck, both partners were maximum
