Match Point Scoring

Hi, I think that BBO is brilliant, but I am trying to fully understand how the percentages are calculated when using Match Point scoring and then published in “History”.

I appreciate that hands are compared against other tables, (I think 15) which is why scores fluctuate during play, but how long does it take a set of, say, twelve boards to be completed by all the tables so that a final percentage may be calculated?

Thanks...

Are you talking about playing in a tournament or at a regular table? When you refer to a set of boards it sounds like you mean a tournament, and then the final calculation happens when the tournament is over (some tournaments also have a 20-minute correction period during which the TD can adjust scores).

If you're playing at a regular table all boards are independent, there's no set of 12 boards being scored as a whole. You can keep playing as long as you like, and the "final percentage" is just the average of all the boards in the current table history list.

Thanks - yes, it is a regular table. For example, a friend played this morning and wanted to view the boards in History. She tells me that, after one hour, two boards have yet to appear - are they now likely to?

They should show up eventually, but we've had occasions where a hand never gets played all 16 times. It's a bug we've never been able to track down and fix.

Wouldn't this just happen if a table gets dealt a hand but never completes it? (Which will happen regularly when everyone at that table leaves.)
