No. My understanding is that your display name will display the capitalisation you use when you log in, but the actual user ID is not case sensitive.

 

In other words, the capitalisation used when the ID is created is stored and is sometimes displayed to users but all ID matching by the system is case insensitive (my understanding, at least).
