Terminate Tournament early

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to finish a Tournament early ie. before all boards are played ?

Scenario - Beginners Clocked Tournament where you wish to maximise the boards played, but are running to a fixed time. During event TD gives extra time to allow slow players to finish round.

Can you remove 1 round ?

Can you remove 1 board eg. By reducing the time per round so the last board is not started.

Thanks for the advice.

If the tournament is clocked then each round will end when the time expires automatically, and you can always change the time for a round so yes that's absolutely possible. BBO automatically cancels the last board of a round if there are fewer than 4 minutes left in a round.

Thanks. I will try removing the last board of a Tournament when I can.

Anyone know if you can remove a whole round ?

May be able to if a Howell by reducing the +roundsn+ command. How about a michell ?

It is not possible to remove a whole round - the Mitchell and Howell commands only work when edited prior to the tournament starting. Still, depending on the number of tables, it may not take you too long to average the boards from that round (alternatively the players can just log off, the system will assign averages automatically - if the final results are of particular interest you can always download the results, import into your scoring program and change the 50/50 scores to "Not Played").
