What an ugly format! My high cards strength in 16 boards:

8, 6, 6, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17, 11, 6, 6, 13, 10, 19, 7, 5

Congrats to hearts who (probably) was annoyed as I was, but didn't play as badly as I did

Thanks Povratnik.

I think the first one I played adanst Zupey was worse... But I like the format. Always best hand is boring sometimes.

Yes, sfi and I were defending 14 of our 16 challenge boards, my first taste of this format. Opening leads are often key. When I kibitzed my Dad back in the day, when someone would ask if he played standard leads, he’d reply: ”substandard.” Maybe the original “dad joke,” lol.

I hadn't even noticed that! I just remember thinking how much I hate the robot defence in this set. This may have been the set where I found the killing switch at trick 2 only for partner to ignore "third hand high".

It does help to enjoy defending with no useful information whatsoever from partner. Just think of it as useful training for a pro bridge career. ;)
