Don't argue with success, but ...

4: I think I would have bid 4NT to make partner chose a minor. I appreciate that 4 is a good lead director, but partner could have a 3613 17-count or such. But OK, that's maybe a bit contrived, and even then, 4nt could get us overboard if partner chooses 5. So I suppose 4 is ok. It strikes me as an underbid, but maybe you expect to get a second turn. There's also the upside that 4nt could maybe be misunderstood. You were subbing so presumably you didn't have many partnership agreements.

West's pass after 4: I don't understand. How can you have the agreement to play forcing pass here, in a substitute partnership? I don't think that's standard.

6: This isn't quite consistent with 4 (unless that was understood as forcing but that seems unlikely). You could easily be off two aces so I would just bid 5.

6NT: Presumably that was meant as pick a minor, but if that's what you wanted to do, I would have bid 6 which is less likely to be misunderstood. I wouldn't do it. The 7-level belongs to the opponents. I would most certainly have left in partner's double, unless maybe if you take that double as a forward double. Even then ....

West's final pass looks reasonable. We are probably off an ace, and 7 could suffer a club ruff.

SIRS/Ms/Mrs.,

My personal comments are,

West was too timid to pass a Game forcing 4D bid when she passed the 4S bid by her RHO.

East was a bit excited when she bid 6C.

The 6H bid by S was ,I personally feel

,the silliest bid.

I may be excessively natural but my only sympathy for the 1 opening is that BBO insists on writing 10 instead of T which can falsify the perception of suit length.

Otherwise I agree with msjennifer that the only real crime is the 6 bid by S.

If partner was going to be on lead v 7 I would agree with 6, but you are.

I would have raised to 4 as North with six card support. 6 looks like a wild punt which just happens to work because West has a stonking hand for the double.
