Stop complaining

Too often I see people moaning about problems they encounter with BBO. And nearly always it is a very minor item. Let us be thankful for having this wonderfull platform to play our favourite game! Many thanks to all the volunteers who give their time freely to enable us to play Bridge Online! Please keep up the good work.

Stay safe everybody. kees7777

Who are the volunteers who enable play on BBO?

All the free tournament hosts and most of the yellows.

Are there a lot of free tournaments? Why can the hosts not play in them?

What is the function of the yellows?

Our bridge club has volunteers - a non-playing director and three substitutes standing by in case we need a player or a pair. But that is just for club members.

EDIT: more important, though, is that none of these volunteers have the power to implement the changes and improvements people need. These can only be made by BBO employees. BBO cannot but be making record revenues, so why can they not hire more staff, even if only on a temporary basis until BBO becomes a credible substitute for real bridge? I realise that this is not why BBO was created originally, but this could be a real opportunity. Ir functionality were improved, the EBU and ACBL and clubs leagues et cetera might still use occasionally use BBO even when their premises reopen for business. For example, at my main club, we play one evening a week and have been giving serious consideration for quite some time about having another session. Unfortunately, our premises are not available on any other evenings. With some investment now, BBO could fill in the gap for years to come.
