Not switched to casual server

Hi,

Both my partner and I use the new version of BBO (v3). However, when she goes to casual - she is not taken to the new server. So when I hit casual, I lose her. She logs on via Chrome browser. But she has an old computer. Could there be a reason her BBO is not updated with the patch that introduces the separate servers? How can we find this out - and what can we do about it?

Thanks

Kirsten

An old computer should not be an issue as long as she can run a modern browser.

If she really logging in via the Login/Register link on https://www.bridgebase.com/ or is she clicking the link for the old Flash version?

When you go to the correct login page, you normally see v5.6.1 on the screen for a short time.

She is logging in with the URL you suggest. And I see she is on v3 when she shares her screen with me.

Hi, I also have a friend having the same issue. He is using the app on his Android device, but when he logs in and selects Casual he sees all the correct options but his name appears in Competitive. He is then unable to join a game in Casual.

Is there anything I can do to help him please?

In the absence of any response I tried installing Google Play on this Amazon Fire so I could access the latest version of the app. However it would not allow me to install the app because I had already put it on an old Nexus 7 for him (this was too slow and unreliable). I deleted it from the Nexus (in fact I did a factory reset as well) but I still couldn’t install the correct Android version as it appeared still to be registered to his account.

In desperation I set him up with access via his browser, but this is more difficult for him as the screen space is smaller than with the app, making it more difficult for him to touch the correct part of the screen with him arthritic fingers.

We’ll see how he gets on.
