csdenmark
Each day I advertise for partners. I am using texts like this for that: I am looking for precision-partner. Meckwell Club – Belladonna/Garozzo: Precision or SUPERprecision – Viking Precision – Icelandic Precision. Or: www.bridge.cs1.dk During the search process several persons are using the new feature for 'help to find me a game'. Many are by software sucked into my table where my general table description is this: Beznazwy, Lambda, Regres, Moscito, Quadri Italia, Leghorn Diamond, Roman Club, Arno Club, Precision, Meckwell, Hamway, Blue Club, Polish Club, KS. \\\ I don’t play SAYC,2o1,ACOL etc. /// ---------------------------------------------- Table jumping, incl. sucked to tourney, will be reported for misconduct. Don’t sit if you have less than 1 hour. All serious players welcome. By arrival a person receives this message: Hello - I am looking for partner. I play STRONG championsystems – and that only - but a variety of such! Please give me your proposal for a system to agree on! Now the persons with no skills are completely confused. They have used software to help them. Software is bypassing the warning that this is no table for them. Often they are completely helpless because they are faced with a demand for specialized skills. It cannot be wise to be able to enter a table, neither manually nor automatic, bypassing table description.
fred
If you turn on "permission required to play" then you won't have this problem. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
csdenmark
If you turn on "permission required to play" then you won't have this problem. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.comThank you Fred. I know that but I have nothing to restrict and basically it is not me who has a problem. I want to have no restrictions as many are entering for information and I am basically open to all kind of solid proposals. So I use a frank and open attitude based on information. Those who have problems are the innocent persons asking software for help. I feel pity for them but I think I have done my homework and try to inform as polite as possible. I also need to take into account that many are not only poor skilled in bridge but have servere problems with english communication. Therefore I cannot write long explanations but need to use some kind of short standardfrazes.
fifee
If I have "permission to play" turned on, then I cannot speak with the person who is requesting to sit. If you are not "accepted," you have only a request turned down message. When players are requesting to sit, table host does not have the ability to speak with anyone. It would be polite to be able to discuss with requesters privately before declining or accepting their request to sit. melviss666
I agree with fifee. Either being rejected or rejecting someone else with no explanation available seems a little too blunt. And to add a tangent to this, it would be nice to have a "no enemies" restriction during the set-up of a table, just like tourney organizers are allowed to do. Or, as an alternative, when a said enemy requests to sit, I am able to see that I've marked this person an enemy. 90% of those I've marked black have left during a hand, not lost connection, & I have enough memory work to do without remembering all these characters by user ID as this list often grows daily. Maybe I should've started this in a new thread? Oh, well...
