Can a TD for an ACBL/virtual tournament do an undo.

Recommended Posts

This was posted in Bridgewinners and i was wondering if it is true that a director can do an undo.

"Technically incorrect, It is available to the director but the directors are told not to permit in set up.In a case like this you call the director and he can adjust the board post fact, if he deems the misplayed card was indeed a slip of the thumb/mouse/cat as opposed to a slip of the brain."

He is saying you can adjust a board which is possible but i have never heard of anyone doing it.

Directors can't do undoes. All they can do is assign a result at the end of the hand.

They usually do this when the round changes in the middle of the board, if a likely result can be determined. They're less likely to do it for misclicks, because players are warned that they should enable "Confirm bid/play" if they have mouse troubles.

I imagine the author was referring to the Undo option itself.

It is available to the director in set up but many f2f directors would advise to not permit it.

I saw that the EBU online rules oblige it to be enabled but severely restrict its use.

Last night we changed the server to enforce consistent settings in all the ACBL virtual clubs. They don't allow undo regardless of what the TD says.

Other TDs are on the honor system to follow their NBO's guidelines.
