arepo24
Is it possible for me to set up a table of four players in the relaxed room with playing bridge in the room myself?
paulg
Is it possible for me to set up a table of four players in the relaxed room with playing bridge in the room myself? No. You can set up a table for four others and one of them will become host when you leave to play at another table. arepo24
Thank you for your response. Particularly because the word "with" should have been "without"
sfi
You can set up the table and act as host without playing. You will need to remain at the table as a kibitzer. You do this exactly as you set up any other table - just don't assign a seat to yourself.
arepo24
Must I remain at that table as a kibitzer when I would like to play at another table with other players?

arepo24
Sorry, I missed what you were trying to say.I simply need to know if, once all are in their seats, I can leave that table and go to a different table, or MUST I remain there as a kibitzer? If you leave you CAN'T remain as a kibitzer. If you leave, you leave. You can't be at two tables at the same time.

mycroft
You can set up a table for four others and one of them will become host when you leave to play at another table. Once the table is up, when you leave to play, someone else (usually the person who showed up first) will be host. If that's not an issue, then go ahead. If you're the only person who knows how to be a host - resetting scores, requesting/denying access, and so on - then you probably shouldn't leave until (or leave and then come back as a kibitzer until) you've taught the table what host does. But no, when you leave the table doesn't go away. The four people at the table can still keep playing.
Chas_P
I understand that perfectly. But once I leave those 4 people to play their game, can I then find a table of my own to play bridge? Of course. Just start another table. And one of the four players at the table you first set up will become the host at that table.
arepo24
Ahh! Thank you for that answer.I was worried that if I set up 4 savvy bridge players who are just not familiar with the actual set up, that I would not be able to leave them to their game and get one of my own at another table. My thanks to you. Bid 7 NO TRUMP!!!!!!!!
