D_H_D
I have tried having various phrases - such as "Welcome to the tournament" - sitting side-by-side in a text file so that I can cut and paste them into the tournament chat. But the cut and paste doesn't seem to work. Is this because I'm not doing something right, or is it just not possible? Many thanksDavid

Many thanksDavidI'm not sure why it's not working because I've used that, but if you run the game from the Flash version of BBO it provides you with Chat Manager, which allows you to store all your frequently-used messages and send them at the click of a button. You will find it in the Options button just next to Chat at the bottom of the screen.

I'll do a little more exploring and try the Flash version, although BBO describe that as obsolete. There's so much to do at the beginning of a tournament, especially if you find you have a half table, that I was hoping cut and paste would lighten the load. Using Windows 10, I was using right click to copy the text - but right click would not work in the BBO chat space for me to find a paste option. However, <ctrl>v does work, pasting it in as required. There may be other ways - but one is enough!

pescetom
It is for players, but it has more functionality for TDs. Can it do some obvious things that seem to be missing in the HTML5 client, for instance:- not show duplicates when one looks at the registered list?- make some noise (maybe even "Director") when a Director call occurs?- show the currently assigned contract/score when adjusting?- provide access to the history of tournaments directed and completed? Gerardo
Flash is obsolete (browsers will disable it at the end of this year). That's why BBO's Flash client is going away.

Well aware of that and that's why I no longer use it.But if the Flash version does not have the obvious limitations I find when directing with the HTML5 version then I would consider using it until I can. That's done in HTML for Hosts at webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tarchive.php?m=h&h=GlobalClub - replace GlobalClub with your Host.No way to see by Director. Also, V2 lets you assign up to 10 named and coloured categories to distinguish players. Their ID gets the colour as background. frank34589
USING TEXT REPLACEMENT in your keyboard settings can solve this problem. If you type 'ppq', it will be corrected to “Please play quickly. Pick up the pace so you do not lose a board!“ If I type bbi (bridge base intro), it will be corrected to “Welcome to (aaaa) Bridge Club. Please play promptly when it is your turn. Everyone please be polite. Let’s have a fun evening.”Because the letters bb are never used tp start a word, I have set a number of phrases using bb followed by a number, such as bb1 to write “This evening, we are playing 6 rounds of 3 boards @ 7 minutes each, 21min per round. This tournament uses pre-dealt hands. Your convention card will default to SAYC if it is not set to something else.”All phrases can be edited before sending, allowing for correction of information. By using an additional letter you can even set a second language, such as bbf1 for the same phrase in French. Works seamlessly and flawlessly! Can also be used within any other program or application.
