You open with a strong club, and relay to 6

Partner is relay responder and showed

A positive response (forced to game)

A 1=5=3=4 hand

One key card with clubs as trump

The Queen of Trump and the King of Hearts

You place the hand in 6 and receive the Ace of Hearts lead

The lead goes A, low, 9, Queen

LHO continues with the deuce

You're probably the only pair who bid this

Now you need to make it

What carding do the opps play and how good do I think they are? I’d know both factors at 5h3 table and the answe s might influence my play.

In a vacuum, win the heart, pitching a diamond. Spade A, then diamond to hand, ruff a spade, back in diamonds, ruff a spade. If all is well, cash the club Queen and ruff a diamond and pull trump and claim. Needs considerable good fortune.

Thanks

That's much better than what I ended up doing

(Though both worked, I wasn't happy with the line I chose)

Sir,I,too, would adopt this line.A few may play the hand in a high cross ruff fashion which may not work always.
