Thomas's 3S is forcing since north chose to open bidding in first seat with one of a suit. The first question Gib's inner workings should be programmed to know is whether or not pass is an option. Since pass in not an option, it must choose something else... Four clubs would be my choice after 3S. South’s next call after 4C would be the toughest. Bidding spades again is very tempting, but knowing Gib I’d probably go for 5c for fear of being left in a 5-2 or 5-1 fit after repeating spades (voice of experience).
