I never knew priorities in NMF, or in auctions as this one, does one show other 4card major or 3 card support for responder's major?

Simple game in bbo with pick-up partner, IMPs, all vulnerable. Assuming vanila 2/1, auction:

(P) P (P) 1C

(P) 1S (P) 2N

(P) 3C* (P)

3C was alerted as relay. What oppener rebids with ♠AQJ ♥AKJ4 ♦A6 ♣T953 ? Or was I supposed raise spades directly?

It's mainly a matter of partnership agreement. It's possible to play:

• other major first
• responder's major first
• hearts first (4cd hearts first if partner bid 1S; 3cd hearts first if partner bids 1H)

Personally I prefer other major first. This simplifies getting to a 4-4 fit in the other major when holding both a 4-4 fit in one major and 5-3 in the other.
