pilowsky
There seem to be two meanings for the 2D response in the GIB 2/1 card: the first is the expected 'I have nothing much' waiting bid, but the second 2D probably should be 3D to indicate long and weak in diamonds. I guess it is a trivial point, but there it is. Enjoy.
smerriman
I don't know what you're saying here. 2♦ doesn't mean "I have nothing much", nor "weak with diamonds".
pilowsky
You are right.
smerriman
Are you referring to this? The first 2♦ mentioned is a response to a strong 2♣ opener. The second 2♦ is a 2♦ opening bid.

pilowsky
No, I think that you are reading the card incorrectly. Try again.
smerriman
I'm reading it just fine. See the word 'response' next to the first 2♦, and how it is in the box for 2♣? That means it is a response to the 2♣ bid. See how on the right of the 2♦, 2♥, and 2♠ boxes say RONF, 2NT asks feature? They are conventions played over weak two openings. rienzi
There are millions of errors in GIB 2/1. If you doubt that, try a few hands on Bridge
barmar
There are millions of errors in GIB 2/1. If you doubt that, try a few hands on Bridge 4Unfortunately, updating the GIB CC has been low priority. The updated details are in the GIB System Notes: https://www.bridgebase.com/doc/gib_system_notes.php If you mean that there are problems with GIB's bidding, not that the CC doesn't correctly describe its system, you should post the specific details in GIB Robot Discussion or use the Robot Report operation in the Export menu when viewing a robot hand. Note also that all the anonymous robot games use Basic bots, which don't bid and play as well as Advanced bots that are used in tournaments.
