helene_t
https://tinyurl.com/y5tw93up GIB has the best possible hand opposite my splinter - why didn't it superaccept, btw? But it signs off. Then I make another slam try, it signs off again. It also denied ♦A. 5♠+2. With GIB in my seat, it starts with texas and then bids 5♣. johnu
Does GIB understand splinters at all?As I have previously noted, GIB was programmed how to make splinter bids, but GIB has no concept about how to evaluate a hand opposite the splinter bid, or any possible continuations. If you could somehow get into a cue bidding sequence without making a splinter bid, that wouldn't really help you because GIB's cue bidding is basically broken (technically, it never worked correctly). eagles123
GIB is clueless at slam bidding in general, other than showing number of keycards. but if it's a situation where they have to show judgment then they're terrible, will bid on with hopeless hands and pass with golden hands ... and if u punt out 6 it'll raise you to 7 for no reason whatsoever some of the time lol ... nightmare!
