inquiry
The voting is closed. We now open the hands for discussion by our members. I will say that five out of six hands raised some interesting concepts and nice discussion (and disagreement) by the panel of experts. This should be a fun set of hands to discuss. hrothgar
BPO-002A 3♣ Nasty hand for standard systems. 3♥ is right on shape, but is non-forcing. 4♥ hopelessly jams our auction. The jump rebid in a fake suit is the best choice...
Free
3NT: 6+♥ and no ♠ support.
42
3♣, forcing
Blofeld
I wavered between 3♥ and 3nt. I think I like 3nt better, but can't now remember whether I did the same when submitting answers.
mike777
4H Hopelessly jamming auction.1) Did not like 3nt choice, afraid of communication problems but......may be last making contract.2)3C, Hate to jumpshift into 3 card suit but many top experts do.3) hmm let us see...4h often shows:a*) around 18-20 hcp..check.b*) strong h suit...check.c*) denies biddable second suit very often...checkd*) often denies spade support....check
badderzboy
3♦ I might attract a Club lead if partner bids 3♠ and I correct to 3NT..
whereagles
3NT. Why didn't I open 2C?

luke warm
i didn't save my msg to elianna with my answers... what a dolt... and these are so tough that i sure hope this matches what i said originally... anyway, i believe i voted for 4♥, showing 19, 20 or so with a pretty good suit
han
3NT for me, even though this doesn't necessarily show a hand as good as this one.
sceptic
I bid 3 clubs forcing
Double !
Another vote for 3 clubs:I know little about partner's hand, and I don't know where we are headed yet. Three clubs at least gives partner more room to clarify his/her holding. Simply rebidding 3NT just seems to to me to be going too fast. If it's right, we'll get there. I want to hear partner's rebid. I concur with the feeling that these were a very difficult set of hands. I hope I score over 200 in total. Good Grief.

jillybean
ditto 3♣, whitest lie and forcing.
pclayton
3♣. Many other possible strains other than 3N. I'd rather have one more heart and not the ♣K for a 3N call. 4♥ never occurred to me.
Chamaco
3C forcing.

Gerben42
3NT, should show this hand type. Need not be the end of the auction unless you play the Hog System.
P_Marlowe
3C. I fail to see the problem. Inventing a suit, taking a strong 3 carder, is as old as anything. With kind regardsMarlowe

luke warm
question to those for whom 4♥ didn't occur... what does the bid show?
Fluffy
1♥-1♠4♥ Something like: ♠x♥AQJ109xx♦KJxx♣x or.. ♠Qxx♥KQJ109xx♦AJx♣- Clearly not very close to what we had this time.
luke warm
true, those aren't even close... i asked because i was taught that a jump to 4M from 1M showed about 20 hcp and a very good, usually 6+, card suit... i guess that has changed
