pigpenz
just started playing some free indys lately after 15 years :)it seems people who play in it have no idea what is standard BBO 2/1!cant it be set up like when one plays with the bots that you can preview the bidsbefore you make them....alot of players make all sorts of weird bids over 1NT etcyou get the drift. If this were set up then everyone would learn what BBO 2/1 is
HardVector
Isn't it frustrating when an event is clearly stated as 2/1 and your partner of the moment decides that 1s-p-1n-p is NOT forcing...and it costs you first in the event because of the poor score you get for not getting to the cold 4s game? But if he passed with a hand that can pass 1NT semi-forcing then there probably wasn't game anyway.
pigpenz
the point is it would be a great way to teach people what the 2/1 system is.I have these auctions 1NT 2♦ is it diamonds or majors?1NT 2♣ clubs or something else1NT double if folks in indy could see what their bids are supposed to be before they make themit might help everybody. I think GIB plays Cappeletti.

barmar
thats my point what is standard for this, is there an indy convention card...make it so people know what is standard for thisThere is no standard for indys, it's a crapshoot. In the Free Automated Fun tourneys you're expected to play 2/1, but there's no way to enforce it.

barmar
so why not show some sort of BBO card for 2/1 is that really that hard?It won't do any good, I guarantee it.even the ACBL had at onetime yellow card tournamentsAnd they weren't popular so they went away. And they weren't popular so they went away.thanks Barrymaybe we can start a 4NT game and make it a real crap shoot....pass 3 cards left 2 accross and 1 right and opening bid has to be 4NTand dummy gets to choose declarer or opps
