security

I agree with others the main topic is security, this new programme should not be used until it is announced SECURE

Comment 1: Do you have any clue what it means when your browser says that BBO is not secure? More specifically, do you understand what it means that the primary connection with BBO is running over HTTP while ecommerce transactions like buying BBO$ are running over HTTPS?

Comment 2: Do you understand that the old version of BBO runs using Flash which is a legitimate security issue?

Comment 3: Why does it matter that BBO is "not secure"?

I work in InfoSec (I suspect that I am the only regular poster on the forums who does) and whilst I would prefer to see the new version of BBO running over HTTPS rather than HTTP, at the end of the day this actually doesn't matter much. The credit card transactions do run over HTTPS which is good enough and not having to run Flash anymore is a blessing.

(Note: I appreciate that it is slightly easier for someone to be able to read your password off the wire if things are running over http. And, in theory, someone might be able to use your credit card to buy additional BBO bucks for your account, however, at the margin, running things over http really doesn't matter than much)

If you go to the new version from the www.bridgebase.com home page you should now get a secure connection.

If you've saved a bookmark or follow a link that a google search gives you, it might not be. But you can change it to https: at the beginning to switch over.
