Tip your cap to declarer for the play, but the bid is a bad one that panned out
HardVector
I don't consider play low from KJ74 a mistake. You are looking at 2 sure tricks in the suit, and I'm not throwing one of them away because of a possible finesse of the 9.
Tramticket
Opps got lucky with a silly bid.
sfi
Presumably 2H showed hearts and a minor?

sfi
X = PEN, 2♣ = ART (Landy)Other suit-bids = NAT Now I have rather less sympathy for the 2H bid.
msjennifer
Sir,something appears rather weird. How come 2H bid was made on a 4 carder suit. Why did they play in 2H and not 3NT.It appears a wee bit surprising that with the given hand North who is certainly worth a bid kept quiet.(over 2H).

pescetom
X = PEN, 2♣ = ART (Landy)Other suit-bids = NAT It's odd that there is no way of safely showing a 4-card major. I can understand not wanting to give up the penalty double over weak NT, but one could use 2♣ for a 4-card major plus a 5-card minor and 2♦ for both majors, for instance.
