Event 15 information and score reporting

GIB1 would like to complain about his lack of luck with carry-over, as well as the lack of respect he got in the seeding. He's played more hands on BBO than all other participants combined, and usually does fine - shouldn't that count for something? Yes he said it outloud - he thinks there was some anthropocentric bias at play here. We should all consider the hurdles this bias creates for him every day.

Hey, I've got a worse carry-over than GIB!

Some technical questions:

- I never dared to try, but... Can I play several boards, then log out and finish the match tomorrow?

Yes. It's best to not leave in the middle of a hand, but that's just so that you remember what has happened. BBO lets you leave at any time and resume where you left off.

- If I start playing before expiration, but don't finish on time - what happens?

The challenge ends and your opponent receives a match report showing the boards you have completed. I don't know if you are sent a copy of of the match report as well.

It's best to finish it in time. Otherwise the organisers have to make a decision about how to treat it and you are unlikely to come out well. If the challenge is too close to expiring when you see it, you can simply reject it and issue a new one to the other person - neither person can play the hands until the challenge is accepted.

There is one caveat. If you and the other person are following each other, the challenge will be automatically accepted when issued. In that case you might want to send a note just to let the other person know it's there.

Thank you. So I have only tomorrow evening to finish the match against diana_eva. I planned to do it anyway, but if something unexpected prevents me, I hope my non-acceptance will not be treated as resignation...

The trick is to not accept the challenge until you have time to complete it before it expires. That way the other person doesn't waste time playing the hands when they won't count.

We're friends so it was auto-accepted. Anyway, happy to replay in case he cant make it, if the rules allow.
