GIB bids 3NT with a weak doubleton heart after partner shows a singleton heart.

Luckily, GIB North shifted after winning the first round of hearts. Next time I'll lead the K from KTxxx when GIB doubles for the lead.

Are you sure GIB standard is that partner has shown a singleton rather than a second suit?

Yes!

  • 3♣ Minor Suit Transfer (Promises 6+ diamonds. Opener must bid 3)
    • If responder's next bid is 3 of a new suit, he is promising a singleton or void in that suit, but not necessarily slam interest

Here's my latest robot fiasco.

Robot has: Kxx AQ109xxx x xx

I have Q10x void AKQJxx AKQx

Robot opens 1H. Auction goes 3d, 3h, 4c, 4h 5d, 5h, 6d, 6h.

The software has serious captaincy issues. 6d was the last makeable spot. 6nt makes if they lead a spade, otherwise no. I can't get the gd robot to shut up with its broken suit.

Sorry, but that one is entirely your fault. Playing Soloway jump shifts, as GIB does, your 4 bid shows support for hearts and shortness in clubs. Your further diamond bids are then clearly cuebids.
