Partner bid 3♦ which I judged correctly to be a re-transfer (but I prefer natural - our 1NT was weak), and I had to guess whether he was competing or inviting. What methods do you use here? helene_t Posted October 13, 2018 Report Share Posted October 13, 2018 You could play 3♦ as invitational with hearts or you could play it as nonforcing with both red suits. Retransfer is not useful here, you are happy to have overcaller on lead. Double for take-out is also available and some invitational hands can use that. So I think I prefer weak with both red suits. What methods do you use here?For us, 3♦ would have been natural and game forcing. If partner wants to play in hearts, partner can bid hearts (3♥ to compete, 4♥ to force to game :lol: ).
