helene_t
http://tinyurl.com/y9sgorob 3NT here apparently is "cheaper minor". There are several obvious issues with this auction. One of the issues is that the robot doesn't seem to understand the lead-directing double. If opps have bid a suit, GIB tends not to bid notrump without a stopper in their suit, but lead-directing doubles seem to be ignored. steve2005
Why bid 2D? just pass have garbage. Then opener can bid 2♦.
wbartley
What would 3♥ be by the robot in this situation? Regardless of whether it should bid 3N without a club stopper, suppressing a six card major is just bizarre.
smerriman
GIB's whole approach here is stuffed up, both of terms of how it copes with the double (it doesn't), and the whole 3NT cheaper minor thing. See here for more details, including a reply from jdonn that didn't result in anything.
johnu
Good bidding by GIB. It followed the system perfectly.
