1,5 for U, anyway u have the chances And very close finish in g_A cool for viewers - heartache for players

Both groups are close.

Less than 1/2 the field will be left to play on for the remaining 2/3 of the tournament.

It's hard to understand why so many good players dislike the alternative Swiss format.

Each competition format has its flaws but the rejected Swiss format has (fewer but) longer matches (which might seem more reliable) and would leave most players in contention for places (including several potential winners, who are about to be eliminated).

In my opinion Swiss format takes to much times.i think it will be twice longer.

Depends on the length of each match but Swiss format would probably be shorter.

  • Event 14 format: RR1 (12 X 16) + RR2 (4X16 +5X32) + SF(4X16) + F(4X16) = 34 X 16 = 544 boards.
  • Swiss format with 7 rounds of 64 board matches = 7 X 64 = 448 boards.

I've already mentioned why I don't think it works well (the biggest part being too many matches unimportant for one of the players but vital to others), but if you want to organise one I'll happily play it and am sure others will too.

True - needed 1.5 to be safe, hence was targeting 9 in the last round but ended up with 7.5. Now need a whole host of favorable results to qualify, the first of which was provided by Vilgan yesterday (Thanks!).

Now requesting Twisterrz to please draw / win against Broze...but not by much :D

The main disadvantage of Swiss is that you have to synchronise everything. With a round-robin, everyone can choose their pace as it suits them.
