Stephen Tu
The bots are generally terrible at distinguishing between penalty, takeout, and general strength showing doubles, since what a double means depends on previous calls, and it's difficult to teach bots how to parse the auction. It's going to take a massive effort for them to fix this over the multitude of possible auctions. In the meantime, hover over the double to see what they mean; if they just show some random number of points and some random number of trumps you should often refrain from doubling and just accept the undoubled penalty. If you play a lot against them and take some lumps and see what other players do, you can gradually get a feel for some auctions where you can safely double and expect it to get left in.
