Jim Harper
when a player wants to leave the game it is usually at the end of a hand. sometimes the next hand gets dealt and the bidding may have started before that player has finished her thank yous and goodbyes. what would be nice is an option whereby the player intending to leave checks the option during the play of the hand and the system does not deal the next hand until they leave or they uncheck the option and remain at the table. inquiry
From a yellow standand point, the rule is as long as you don't make a bid, you are free to leave (that is you have not started to play the hand until you bid).
julie5607
Currently when you click on your seat a question comes up "are you sure you want to leave this seat", and if you click yes you are put into spec. If you click on the back button, however, you get a similar message but you are sent back to the lobby. Would it be difficult to change the message (and action) of the seat click to "leave your seat at end of hand?" and have it wait till the last trick is played to send the player to spec? That way you could have plenty of time for goodbyes, allow the host time to think about a replacement player, and not have to worry about the timing of departure beyond the end of the current hand. Julie p.s. I still would like the functionality to type a replacement player's name into the reserved box while a player is still in the seat. Although making the table invisible is a workaround, it would make for much more seamless transitions if the seat could be reserved while the "last hand" is being played and the leaving player is making his or her goodbyes. One of the problems I have with the current incarnation of the software is that there is no easy way to send a message to people who request a seat and are rejected - even if there were it is just nicer to not have what looks like an available seat that is truly not available for whatever reason. mink
Thanks Julie, excellent suggestion. However, clicking on the name to leave the seat should still work immediately at teaching tables. If a new hand was dealt only if 4 players are sitting, we also would avoid losing a hand due to a kibitzer jumping in. This is especially of value if you play MP, because you will likely be the first table to play the new hand nowadays. Karl
