manudude03
A few years ago when I had some spare time waiting in public, and I had some cards on me, I would deal out all 52 cards and try and determine how the auction and play should go. Effectively playing bridge where I am all 4 players.
ggwhiz
A few years ago when I had some spare time waiting in public, and I had some cards on me, I would deal out all 52 cards and try and determine how the auction and play should go. Effectively playing bridge where I am all 4 players. In 2005 my wife and I taught bridge in a lot of Elementary schools and a bright 12 year old fell in love with the game and did a lot of this. Played with me in a Sectional Swiss with NO conventions, not even stayman. We missed the last overall spot in Flight A by 2 vp's when a team with 8 or 9 Canadian Championships between them beat us by 6 imps in the last match by slipping a white 3nt that our teammates failed in by ME! rmnka447
It definitely would be a pleasant game with probably pretty good results. Likely, we'd be gaining big time defending and bidding hands, but might have a gaffe or two declaring. Unless we both had a very bad night, I'd expect to scratch in just about every session. johnu
There was this story about ACBL Hall of Famer John Crawford, Never at a loss for words, Crawford brimmed with confidence and hubris. He was once approached at a tournament by a player who wanted his opinion on a hand. “Before you give me the hand, who’s my partner supposed to be?” Crawford asked.“It’s unimportant,” answered the player.“I have to know,” said Crawford. “It might make a difference.”“Okay then – another good player. Make it yourself or your twin brother.”“Who are my opponents?”“If you insist on that, too, make it two more Johnny Crawfords.”Said Crawford: “I’m sorry, I wouldn’t play in that game, it’s too tough.”
