ummm not sure what to do apparently my opp allowed the challenge to lapse (they sent invite to me) let me know

gszes vs Stephen tu

I think what happened is you waited until very close to when the challenge was about to expire to accept and play the boards. Since you didn't follow me as friend the software does not allow me to play boards until you accept challenge, as it does with friend challenges. So I don't really have any notification that you played the boards since you wait until near challenge expiration time, and doesn't leave me any time to play them myself. You play the boards, the challenge expires shortly after, from my point of view you didn't accept challenge and it just expired unnoticed, the software doesn't even message me that you played it. Feels to me like the software ought to be altered so that if one person accepts and plays near expiration time, that time for other person to play it should be extended say +24 hours after challenge accepted.

If it is close to challenge expiration time it is better to decline challenge and reissue, to give other player reasonable amount of time to notice that challenge has been accepted and play it. Or friend people in your group so they can play boards at challenge issue time then you have 3 days to complete. Unless you are unavailable and can't play challenges some particular time period.

I reissued a new challenge.

Just want to alert tim_ucin that I already played the boards several days ago and the challenge expires today.

I'm also waiting on tim_ucin, he still has a day to play our match.

He seems to be way behind, he only has one score in the spreadsheet.

lots of identical boards

take a look at board 13 for a neat bot complaint but seriously the programming should at least force the bot to decline all invites if not near the top of their previous range no matter what they think their p has:)

At high levels the robots often leave in takeout doubles, rather than risking the 5 level. It probably comes from simulations telling them that the preempter is likely to go down even though there's no trump stack.

Thanks. So if I understand correctly:

1. There is no specific logic which states that 'XYZ' situations/bidding sequences are takeout and 'ABC' situations are penalty.

2. The bid description, which comes when I hover the mouse over a bid, can be over-ridden if simulations tell the robot that leaving in penalty (say) would be more profitable on most occasions.
