4H is a bit much. Look, it is expecting 17+ TP and 5 cd support. Don't know if should guarantee 5 or not. I think South should double again, though the definition of that may also be less than optimal. Then North has a decision between passing the double and 3nt. I checked there is definitely a bug here; 3nt shows significant extra values, like 15+ HCP, which shouldn't be necessary since South's 2nd dbl showed game values. Also the 2nd dbl should theoretically limit South to 4 spades not 4+ as in current definition, since with 5+ and an extra value neg-x it would have been strong enough for 2s in the first place.

 

On the actual auction North is reasonable if it thinks 4H is as huge as defined; it is expecting 11 cd fit and not losing 2 tricks if you have 2 keys. As it is you landed in ~70% slam; simply unlucky it doesn't make. West can have AQx or Qx and the finesse is right; together these are ~70:30 edge in favor of finesse given the vacant space info at the decision point. Tough luck no real blame, sometimes you get to good slam and things don't work out. That's bridge.

LOL. This hand Stephen was posted more as an "interesting" hand than a complaint. I think GUBBO bid correctly. I just didn't want to risk a double given the bidding and fell in love with my hand quality which then prompted 4H.

No issues with GUBBO on this one.
