virgosrock
Shaking and Trembling - because I don't have 14-16 "points" - I pass the redouble. Lesson: double right away 'cos later this sequence becomes 14-16 Note w/o dK lead is down 2 possibly. I had already started calculating +2xx or even +3xx vulnerable. But it was 0.5 cents so I took a chance. Related to a previous post where GIBBO had passed a redouble and was the right bid. vrock [hv=http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?lin=pn%7Cstiffqueen%2CVirgosRock%2CRobotN%2CRobotE%7Cst%7C%7Cmd%7C3S89H2379TD7JAC4QK%2CS257QH58D6QKC389A%2CS36TJAH4JQD35TC25%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard+13%7Csv%7Cb%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C1H%7Can%7CMajor+suit+opening+--+5%2B+%21H%3B+11-21+HCP%3B+%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2H%7Can%7CSimple+raise+--+3%2B+%21H%3B+7-10+total+points+%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cd%7Can%7C3%2B+%21C%3B+3%2B+%21D%3B+2-+%21H%3B+3%2B+%21S%3B+14-16+total+%7Cmb%7Cr%7Can%7CMax+--+3%2B+%21H%3B+9-10+total+points+%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpg%7C%7Cmc%7C7%7C%0A%0A]399|300[/hv]
Stephen Tu
Weird that the delayed double should show that much, should be lower range. It's probably having a hard time constructing hands for N/S, not accounting for light 3rd seat opener and might be over-rating pass based on an unrealistic sample. Also an issue is that it doesn't have a scrambling 2nt available to show equal length in the minors, it probably realizes that getting to a 4-3 fit might be fairly frequent and bad and thus might make the risk of passing 2H look better since 3m also minus. I wonder what it would choose if it could bid 2nt to get to an 8 cd fit reliably.

steve2005
How is this wierd? Almost every balancing sequence where in normal bridge all you need is 13 cards and shortage in opps trump suit, Gib says this shows a big hand.In most of these sequences it would be very rare to come close to what Gib is requiring.
