Stephen Tu Posted May 19, 2018 Report Share Posted May 19, 2018 Well for one thing it thinks that East has 4 trumps; that unexpected Q of hearts you hold swings quite a few potential tricks. I don't know if the sampling code takes into account the 3cd raise deviations from the database, hopefully it does but maybe not? The other thing is that if I read the blurb right (doesn't show up visually, but read it from cut/pasting your diagram code), it thinks South is limited to 9- points maybe because of the initial pass which is wrong and should be fixed. Under those conditions it probably is correct that doubling them into game is too thin, needs better heart spot cards to take that gamble. He shouldn't expect to beat them in general, given the opponents will know he has 5 trumps. Are we perhaps resulting because you had singleton heart queen??
