Trying to visualise what shape partner has for not passing out 3♣X, and not bidding 3red. Also how would you bid a hand with 5♥/4♠ over 1N? as some people DON'T bid 2♦-2♥-2♠ with this. msjennifer Posted April 17, 2018 Report Share Posted April 17, 2018 This is a very strange auction.Partner overcalled opps 1C with a strong NT .He did not bid 3H over 3C .He took out the doubled 3C contract.He never bid spades at any level earlier.He did not double 3 C immediately to show spade /diamond (4/5) hand.So his very likely hand is 4243 or rather should be.I shall pass since I do not wish to go up one level by bidding 4D. I pass 3S and figure making any number of spades will be a good result. NT rates to play really poorly unless pard has AQJx and KQ in majors.
