So I know trying a redouble auction with GIB is playing with fire, and redoubling with South is questionable to begin with, but if we always avoid this we won't stamp out the bugs, no?

 

Anyway I think North ought to rebid 2♣ not 2♦, and 2♦ should be strong forcing and promise longer clubs, real reverse?

In GLOBBY's Addled Bidding World it will always takeout when is weak-ish and/or shapley-ish as is the case here. When there is competition d at 2 level after 1c are still 4+ 4+ with no extra strength. Plus assumes the redoubler has 2- clubs in this case hence maybe did not rebid clubs.

I am ok with a reverse not showing extras after a redouble, as long as a hand with reversing strength gets to game eventually. Slam is hardly a consideration, and reversing strength is unlikely to begin with.

If the reverse doesn't show extras, then at least I think the ranges for responder's 2nt/3nt ought to be fixed. Right now 2nt is 13HCP exactly, 3nt is 14-21. Those seem unwieldy and leave no room for responder's 10-12. Perhaps 2nt should be 10-12-, 3nt = 13-15, stronger cue bids?

 

Also I still have to question bidding a forcing 2d instead of NF 2 clubs especially with such great clubs. While 3c is probably safe opposite most redouble hands, on rare occasions will go down 1?
