Phil
Not creative enough to lead anything but a spade. If I were to step out its the club J
nullve
I sat South and led something that looked fairly normal but cost a trick. It was only hours later, after a nap, that I realised what I should have led, and why.
gszes
small spade highly unlikely the spade J can ever help any but a low spade might be useful if a stiff honor appears in dummy. A spade lead probably wont hurt and it wont give anything away declarer cannot do for themselves.hate the club lead due to frozen suit possibility heart lead seems like we are giving up a possible tempo for little rewarddia lead seems counter productive since that is the lead most likely to cost a trick
nullve
The hand may look like it should have been posted in the Boring Bridge Hands forum, but (hint:)take a really close look at the bidding, if you haven't already.
nullve
If you click on Opener's 1♠ bid, you'll see that it shows "10-21, 5+ S, unbalanced", so he can't have 5S(332).
rmnka447
I'm leading a ♠. I don't like either a ♥ lead or a trump lead. A ♥ has too much danger of giving up a trick when declarer has something like Axxx opposite Qx. A trump lead may give up a tempo and especially holding an honor may enable declarer to pickup the trump suit. If you decide to lead a ♦, then maybe ♦ 9 is better than ♦ 6 to protect against dummy holding something like ♦ J107 or ♦ K107 where declarer could use the rule of 11 to realize that the play of the ♦ 7 will force partner's honor. ahydra
The subtlety of nullve's hints is lost on me. I'm with the others in leading the ♠J. ahydra
Winstonm
If you bid 3S you wouldn't have to worry about the lead. :)
