Bridestrea Posted March 2, 2018 Report Share Posted March 2, 2018 There is one area of BBO that is a little annoying.It’s players not having any profile.It is now a guessing game if a 2 opening is strong or weak (excl 2C).Indeed a 2D opening could be Multi 2! The BBO site is in my view first class and the only issue I have iswhen one comes across a “No Profile” player.It is not possible to play ‘proper’ bridge with a No Profile player. I come across many players who - like me - have a statement in theirprofile - “No Profile - No Play" It would be very welcome if it was possible for BBO to insist on aProfile during Registration before one is allowed to play. If you join the first table available then you are already lucky if the host doesn't immediately boot you because he can't understand your profile. If you play a tournament then you aren't allowed to ask and you wouldn't have time anyway.In the tournament your random partners quite often have no idea what "accept to play 2/1" means and rarely respect your profile.Even if they have a profile of their own then it's not clear who should prevail anyway (mine says 0314, yours says 0413; 4NT - 5♣?).If you can't see all this as a major problem then you are probably used to playing amongst a trusted circle that has been playing on BBO for years.All fine and well, but don't be surprised if new users complain or look elsewhere.
