virgosrock
Thoughts? I think 4S is ridiculous especially when a 3S is available. What exactly could the GIBug be? Also, have you noticed GIBBO generally has length in one/both of opps' suits when makes fit-showing jumps i.e. 3C here. vrock [hv=http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?lin=pn%7Cvirgosrock%2CLucky_Human%2CRobotN%2CRobotE%7Cst%7C%7Cmd%7C2S37H3JQKD45AC59JQ%2CS569H9AD369KC348A%2CS48TQAH258D2C67TK%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard+8%7Csv%7Co%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C1C%7Can%7CMinor+suit+opening+--+3%2B+%21C%3B+11-21+HCP%3B+%7Cmb%7C1D%7Can%7COne-level+overcall+--+5%2B+%21D%3B+8-11+HCP%3B+9%7Cmb%7C1S%7Can%7CFree+bid+--+4%2B+%21S%3B+11-+HCP%3B+6-12+total+points%3B+forcing+%7Cmb%7C3C%7Can%7CMixed+raise+--+4%2B+%21D%3B+7-9+total+points%3B+forcing+%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C3D%7Can%7C5%2B+%21D%3B+8-11+HCP%3B+9-12+total+points%7Cmb%7C4S%7Can%7C11+HCP%3B+twice+rebiddable+%21S%3B+12+total+points+%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CC9%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CH4%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CHT%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpg%7C%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpg%7C%7C%0A%0A]399|300[/hv]
gwnn
This is not a fit-showing jump (that would be something like (1D)-1S-(p)-3H). It's a jump cue, or a mixed raise.

gwnn
Of course 4S is ridiculous though, sorry for not mentioning that in the first post. :) Looking forward to your next portmanteaus, keep up the good work!
steve2005
4♠ is hideous. The only reason Gib can count 12 points is counting singleton. You need a fit to count a singleton. The only known fit is clubs and might even be 4-3. Do you really want to be in 4♣ when partner opened 1♣ and then went quiet?

I think the GIBug might be:Until explicit fit is found DO NOT assume implicit fit and count "points" for singletons or doubletons. If assume implicit fit MUST HAVE 6+ cards in suit. That should cover it. I have asked the question several times. "points" I read on BBO website 10 years ago are applicable when fit is found. BBO since then, at some point, removed the fit and points statement. vrock
