manudude03
This is one that really needs discussion, I have seen it played both ways, or even as a 2-way.

"normal?" "GIBBO?" Bet in GIBBO system notes it is a normal takeout double. It has no sense of negative inferences. vrock
wbartley
With 1NT showing no fit, there is no other reasonable treatment. This is a clear cut situation of a business double asking for a spade lead.
virgosrock
With 1NT showing no fit, there is no other reasonable treatment. This is a clear cut situation of a business double asking for a spade lead. 1c/1d/1h-1s-1nt for example by opps and then p-p-x in GIB World asks for spade lead. If 1NT forcing the x is takeout. If not forcing it is not defined since GIBBO won't understand it. vrock
