sdebois
Hi all, Quick suggestion: It would be neat if one could register a "default greeting" for tournaments. So, for instance, with my regular pd I could set it to "Hi opps, sa-like system, udca, open 1!h on four". This way, a) I wouldn't have to do it manually and B) I wouldn't forget it in some round. Come to think of it, this might be useful for non-tournaments too.
stev_hav
Definitely agree with the basic idea. Would seem best for this to REMAIN in view, and NOT roll off like other chat messages. Might want to "recommend" use of standardized abbreviations, and the sequence in which these should appear. Ex:2/1, 15-17, PST, 5CM, BGN, J2N, RDRY, INVM . . PST = Puppet Stayman. A few highly-frequent conventions (Stayman, Negative doubles, etc) might be OMITTED; in interest of brevity. Whether or not anything specific is done on this, WOULD seem highly advisable to implement "stored" messages (as are available on OKB). hrothgar
I think that we already have a good work arround using "standard" functionality built into Windows. We have the option to "cut and paste" messages into the Chat Window." Assume for the moment that I were playing MOSCITO in a tournament. [Hasn't happened yet but it will]. It would be very easy for me to simple paste the following message: "Hello. We are playing a non-standard system called MOSCITO. We will alert and announce all unusual bids. We have a complete convention card posted which you can access by clicking on http://web.mit.edu/~rwilley/www/MOSCITO.htm" I admit that I would love it if this could all be automated, however, I don't consider one cut and paste per round to be an egregious imposition. tjb
See the thread called Scripting in the BBO Support Forum, next forum down. I think it will do what you want. You create a palette of buttons. Push the appropriate one and your message appears.
