Fit jump is 3+ support, 6+ strong Spades 7 Loosers, with stronger hands you either start 2 or simply bid 4 if (AKQxxx)

edited after 1st reply: Maybe not everyone has seen them yet...

And I also just realised that I forgot the poll... 3NT or 4S were the intended options.

I'd wish you'd only given us the South hand with the bidding, Janis. Knowing the precise cards of the North hand makes it easier to comment.

That said, if you don't bid games on the North-South cards or similar hands, you will probably show a deficit in the long run.

Also, type of scoring, matchpoints or IMPs can be important. Playing IMPs, especially vulnerable, the game bonus makes bidding game attractive even when the contract is not a favorite to make.

Perhaps 4 (cue). If partner rebids 4, I'd pass.

4 second choice.

You might be able to add a poll by editing then invoking the full editor.

4s

You know where at least 9 of partners cards are and the promise of a good suit (nicely filled in with your Jx) puts us at worst 9 tricks on a high probability of success club finesse. Yes indeed we might have 4 losers and no play but that seems horribly unreasonable unless advancer is bidding with something like AQT9xx xx xx Kxx almost any other holding will give us a game so we go with the odds. Who knows maybe someday the spade finesse will work and trumps break 32 hehe haha roflmao :)

I'd add that 3 NT can be a very iffy contract. With the fit jump showing 9+ cards in the black suits, it's more likely that partner will be short in . If the opponents begin with the likely

lead, then 3 NT will need to have 9 running tricks to be made. Since OP indicated that with a solid suit, other bids than a fit jump were available, there's no assurance those 9 running tricks exist.
