Opposing intervention after weak NT - long diamonds

Recommended Posts

At pairs I'll just bid 5 in response to my partner's weak NT. Pussyfooting around and letting the opponents bid is not an option in my opinion. It's a distributional hand, so let the opponents make the final guess.

From your hand, it seems fairly likely that RHO holds and .

Partner can't have more than 4 unless you open 1 NT occasionally with 5 bad ones. So it looks like 18+ total trumps for LOTT purposes.

So it looks like 3 or 5 are the choice. Too much playing strength for Lebensohl 2 NT.

I think I'm with Badger on this one.

I need to know the rest of the methods ie is double of 2 stayman? 2 (or any other bids) xfers? 3 natural and forcing? etc.

If I can manage to show both minors with primary diamonds before they bid 4 of a major I might try to do that even though it will require them not to just blast into it. Getting to 4 of either minor with partner well placed to raise or defend depending on what happens next would be great but not possible to know without more system info.
