AKAQA are 5 side suit tricks. Ace of clubs 6, 3 spade ruffs 1 low 2 high 9, dummy's J98 of trumps 12

Technique-wise cashing all your tricks in your side suits (as the other commentators have indicated) before embarking on a crossruff is absolutely correct, but what if the ♥J lead is a singleton?

 

By the way, I do realise that is a scenario that would be against the odds (of side suit splits).

It looks a very likely singleton to me. But I've been scratching my head trying to work out how to cater for it. Hence my comment "Seems to need west to not have a void or singleton."
