smerriman
After 1♠ (2♣) 3♣ (pass), GIB shows the same definition for both 3♠ and 4♠: 5+ ♠, 11-21 HCP, 12-22 total points. I've seen GIB make each bid at different times, but there has to a be a much better way to define the bids.
steve2005
This is not uncommon. I haven't kept track but this occurs on other auctions too.
jdonn
I'm glad to finally be able to say this. This problem is corrected in the next version, which I believe is being released soon. All the bids after a cuebid-raise will be more clearly and logically defined.
smerriman
Well, the definitions have definitely changed in the new version of GIB. It seems not very carefully however; a bid of 3NT by the opener in the above sequence shows exactly 3 spades (yes, by the person opening 1♠). smerriman
I was just testing out sequences in a bidding table. Here's an example I just created now: [hv=http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?sn=smerriman&s=SAKQ98HA432D5CJ65&w=S7HKJ9D432CAQT974&nn=Robot&n=SJ65H87DAK876CK83&e=ST432HQT65DQJT9C2&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1S(Major%20suit%20opening%20--%205+%20%21S%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points)2C3C(Cue%3A%20limit%20raise%20or%20better%20--%203+%20%21S%3B%2011+%20total%20points)P3N(2-3%20%21C%3B%202-3%20%21D%3B%205-%20%21H%3B%203%20%21S%3B%2014-15%20HCP%3B%20stop%20in%20%21C%3B%20likely%20stop%20in%20%21S)PPP]400|300[/hv]
