Yellow hosts don't have to log in visible at all times. It's perfectly acceptable for them to log in invisible if they do not want to be bombarded with questions.

I'm a yellow because I'm a BBO programmer, and I need the yellow privileges to do some of my job. However, assisting users is not one of my main duties -- we have a number of people who are paid to provide customer support. So I almost always login invisible.

 

And even the people who are paid to be hosts are not on duty 24x7. When they want to be on BBO just for fun, they can login invisible so they won't be interrupted.
