juannt
In a BBO robot tournament, that is a tournament put on by BBO where one player has three bots at the table, the human player's hand always has the highest high-card point count. I've checked the system notes (http://www.bridgebase.com/doc/gib_system_notes.php) but don't see whether GIB accounts for that arrangement during such events. Naturally, the prudent human player knows his hand's high and takes that into account when bidding and playing. How about it? What does GIB know? diana_eva
GIB doesn't know the human has best hand.
iandayre
It should be noted that human does not necessarily have "best" hand. No other player has more HCP than the human. Others may have an equal number, and certainly may have better shape. If human gets a 10 point it is known that all other players also have 10. cloa513
Why? Oversight?BBO rarely alter GIB- it is a fixed program.
iandayre
Why? Oversight? I am sure it was never intended that GIB have any more information than a player at a normal table would. As to why the human always has at least tied for most HCP, I am not sure why it was done, but I expect I would have long since given up playing with GIB otherwise. It is very difficult to defend with GIB due to its lack of signaling, or ability to read signaling.
