morganwilk
In a small diamond contract declarer intended to ruff a spade at trick three. Instead they played a heart, claiming the trick, but no-one noticed. It was only at the end that the error came to light. Is this a revoke? pran
In a small diamond contract declarer intended to ruff a spade at trick three. Instead they played a heart, claiming the trick, but no-one noticed. It was only at the end that the error came to light. Is this a revoke? No, the play was legal but the wrong player was credited the trick. Then this wrong player led to the next trick but that incorrect lead was accepted by the player's LHO. So when the error was eventually discovered (within the relevant time limit) the only rectification applicable is to transfer the trick and credit it to the correct player. (I intentionally use the term "player" rather than "side" in order to cater for the possibility that the rectification shall be to transfer the credit for the trick to the other player on the same side.)
