Phil
Sh!tshow in the silador today. Axxxxx AKxxxxx VQxx KQTxxAQxxx 3N. 1d 1s 2s 2h 3c 3d 3n 1. SQ, x, 8,c.f.2. S9, x, K, c.f.3. C7, Q, x,x4. H to Ace5. Diamond to Q. Two lowest spots played. 6. Heart back to King. If the diamond Ace is on your right, you can cash the As, and, make 4,,If it's on your left, you have to hook diamonds and content yourself with 3. What looks best now? gszes
there is a ton of odd stuff going on with the opps carding (why not unblock spade K at trick 1 for ex). But all that aside what about laying down the dia K at trick 4. This will keep all communications open so that if something nice does happen in diamonds u can always make 4. BTW the bidding is messed up (2h insufficient) and who owns the spade 7?

benlessard
With QJT9x and the ♦A could overcall so its sensible to play low♦ to KQ. Can RHO have 3♠ and choose to overtake and switch at T2, thinking that partner will never have an entry for the established spades ? KxxJxxAJxKJxx even with all the remaining pts its still possible that my partner got ♠QJT9 & a minor queen. So overtaking and switching with 3 is unlikely compared to blocking the suit i guess. So i cash the A and play low D.
