Either way we get to 6♥ Thank you
aguahombre
Right or wrong, I think I would not dwell on Heart quality here. Whatever the actual bid of 5♥ would have meant, I would rather try 5♦..implying a Club void as well and showing Diamonds are locked up. Partner then either Cue's the Spade bullet or doesn't. Now back to the question asked: Probably "Do you have control of Spades?" would be my interpretation if my partner perpetrated it. Edit: This hand looks too good to Splinter, but I understand not wanting to convolute the auction with a Spade response, which could get very ugly. I don't play splinters as self pre-empting gives me heartburn. On this one I would bid Jacoby 2nt instead, find a stiff spade, cue minors.... easy. I realize that it works a LOT better on these cards than with another scenario but 1♠ instead of 2nt (with north still to be heard from) wouldn't occur to me. Otherwise a meta rule in my partnership is that if there is one unbid suit, control in it comes before trump quality. If there are two unbid suits it makes sense for it to be trump quality but we haven't bothered to discuss that one.

When I bypass 5♣, most of my partners would read me as having denied a club void, and bypassing 4N either because of uncertainty about slam, or because I shouldn't be bidding RKCB as a limited hand.
